Subaila Zia, MD, MBA, FCCP, FAASM, Founder & CEO of Telemedora – Reimagining Access to Sleep Care Through Virtual Healthcare | TiE Women’s Program Silicon Valley 2026

At the TiE Women’s Program – Silicon Valley Finals, we spotlight women founders who are using technology and their professional expertise to address important challenges in healthcare. Dr. Subaila Zia, Founder & CEO of Telemedora, is reimagining how patients access specialized sleep medicine by bringing physician-led care directly into the home.
Through Telemedora, patients can connect virtually with board-certified sleep physicians, complete sleep testing from home, and receive personalized, evidence-based treatment plans — helping remove some of the geographic and logistical barriers to specialized sleep care.
The Problem
Sleep disorders affect health, energy, and quality of life, yet accessing specialized sleep medicine can be difficult.
Patients may face long wait times, geographic barriers, or the inconvenience of traveling to specialized sleep clinics — particularly those living in rural or underserved areas.
At the same time, diagnosing and treating sleep disorders can require multiple steps, from an initial consultation and sleep testing to diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing monitoring.
Telemedora is designed to bring these pieces together through a virtual, patient-centered model.
Telemedora’s Solution
Telemedora is a virtual sleep clinic that brings physician-led sleep care to patients in the comfort of their homes.
Patients can connect with a US-trained, board-certified sleep physician through secure virtual consultations. When appropriate, home sleep testing equipment can be shipped directly to the patient, allowing them to complete testing from home. Results are then reviewed by the sleep specialist, who discusses personalized treatment options with the patient.
Telemedora’s care model includes:
- Virtual sleep consultations
- At-home sleep testing
- Sleep study interpretation
- Personalized, evidence-based treatment plans
- Ongoing monitoring and longitudinal care
- Coordination with referring clinicians
The company currently provides care across multiple states, including California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Oregon, and Pennsylvania.
Telemedora is also in-network with major commercial insurance providers, depending on the state and plan.
More Than a Virtual Visit
Telemedora’s approach goes beyond simply replacing an in-person appointment with a video call.
The platform supports patients throughout the sleep-care journey — from scheduling a consultation to home testing, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up.
Telemedora treats a range of adult sleep disorders, including:
- Sleep apnea
- Insomnia
- Restless Legs Syndrome
- Circadian rhythm disorders
- Narcolepsy
For patients who need sleep apnea testing, home sleep studies allow them to complete the evaluation in the comfort and privacy of their own homes.
This model can be particularly valuable for patients who live far from specialty care or have difficulty traveling to a traditional sleep clinic.

Why This Matters
Access to specialized healthcare should not depend solely on geography.
Telemedora’s model is built around the idea that patients should be able to receive high-quality sleep care without unnecessary travel or fragmented experiences.
By combining specialized physician expertise, virtual care, at-home diagnostics, and technology, Telemedora is working to make sleep medicine more accessible and convenient while maintaining a physician-led approach.
The company describes its mission as redefining healthcare delivery and bringing timely sleep care into the home.
