The Problem

Monere’s Solution
Monere builds AI that detects biomarkers from physical signals using consumer devices.
Its first application focuses on estimating hemoglobin from a smartphone image of the inner eyelid.
The company’s technology, including its NiADA (Non-invasive Anemia Detection App), uses AI-powered image processing to estimate blood hemoglobin from images of the lower eyelid. Clinical research published by the Monere team has evaluated the approach against laboratory hemoglobin measurements and point-of-care testing.

In a 2024 clinical validation study involving 556 participants, the application was evaluated against laboratory hemoglobin estimation and a commonly used point-of-care device.
The research highlights the potential of non-invasive smartphone-based approaches for hemoglobin monitoring and anemia screening, while also demonstrating the importance of continued clinical validation as the technology develops.
